Tips for a tidy bathroom
Tidy up, tidy up, and tidy up some more! Your bathroom could use some attention too. Ever wondered why luxury hotel bathrooms and showroom bathrooms have such a calming atmosphere? Both are neat and tidy! So grab your cleaning cloth and trash can and get started with these tips and tricks for an organized bathroom.
Washbasin
First, you want to keep half-squeezed toothpaste tubes, bristled brushes, and other loose items off the countertop . Find a spot for these items out of sight, for example, in a bathroom vanity.
Is the sink empty?! Yes? Next step, choose which products will look great on the sink. Think of products with attractive packaging that complement the look of your bathroom. Are you short on products with attractive packaging? Consider a luxurious pump bottle or a plant.
Open cupboard
Is there an open cabinet in the bathroom? Make it personal by placing a plant, a photo, or your valuables in it. Items that bring a smile to your face are always a good way to start the day. On the low shelves in the cabinet, you can place baskets made of wood, fabric, rattan, or wicker. This gives the bathroom a timeless look. Avoid using cardboard in the bathroom, as it absorbs moisture.

Bathroom furniture
Now that everything is in the bathroom vanity , it's important to organize it. Place containers or organizers in the drawer/cabinet of your vanity. This way, you can properly sort your products. Only put items in the vanity that you use regularly. Ask yourself how many bottles of shampoo and conditioner you actually use, and which only once a week. Could some items or supplies be stored elsewhere in the house?
Also check the expiration date of your personal care products and medications. If your medications are expired, take them to the pharmacy. Personal care products also have an expiration date. Check the back of the jars and tubes; if there's a number with an "m" after it, that indicates the number of months you can use the product after opening.
- To begin, remove everything from the drawer/cabinet of your bathroom vanity. Only when you place it on the floor or table will it become clear how many products have accumulated in the vanity.
- Divide all items into categories, for example: facial products, hair products, make-up, body care and small products (toothpicks and cotton pads);
- Then, in each category, consider what should be kept, thrown away, moved, or donated. If you find items that don't belong in the bathroom, move them to the appropriate place;
- Once you know what you want to store in your bathroom vanity, you can organize them with containers or an organizer. Just be sure to clean out the drawer/cabinet before everything gets its new place.

Everything has its own place
Once everything has its own place, you naturally want it to stay that way. So put your things back neatly in the same place after use. That way, it stays tidy ;).
To make it even more fun and easier for you, here are some additional tips & tricks!
Bath
Are there candles and wine glasses around the bath? Then use a bath shelf to display them. A bath shelf is also handy for your iPad, e-reader, or book. The ultimate win-win!
Children's toys
Did the kids just have a bath and are there toys everywhere? Choose toys that can't be splashed with water and put them away in a basket together with the children.
Lost towel
Do you often find a lost towel on or around the sink? Consider a towel holder or radiator where you can hang your towel.
Towels
Are the towels visible? Make sure they're neatly rolled or folded. Rolling a towel might take a little more work, but it does create a nice look and saves space.
Laundry basket
Use a nice laundry basket and say goodbye to laundry lying around.
Bathroom fan
While tidying and organizing, it's also a good idea to look up, because the bathroom fan really needs cleaning. This will get it running at full speed again!
Music
Finally, of course, you do this while listening to a nice playlist.
Good luck with cleaning up and organizing your bathroom!
