We all hate it, but it still needs to be done weekly: cleaning the bathroom. By investing enough time, you'll enjoy your black faucets for as long as possible without limescale or buildup. Curious how to clean our black faucets (and other faucets )? Then read on. We'll give you all the tips!

Cleaning tips for black taps

Have you installed a beautiful black faucet in your stunning bathroom or new kitchen? We understand perfectly why you chose such a faucet. It looks stunning in combination with, for example, natural stone colors or a minimalist marble look. We hope you thoroughly enjoy your black faucet. Using black faucets creates a real eye-catcher in your interior. We understand that you want these black faucets to stay beautiful for as long as possible. With careful maintenance, you can ensure that limescale and deposits don't stand a chance on, for example, your black kitchen faucet or black bath faucet .

Fortunately, black faucets generally don't require any more maintenance than other faucets. Our matte black faucets from the Australian brand Meir don't require any different cleaning methods than other faucets. Our range also includes copper and stainless steel faucets . We recommend the same cleaning method for these. But how exactly do you clean all your faucets? We often get questions about limescale. Understandably, because it's a shame to see limescale on your faucets. Prevent limescale buildup with the tips below.

Our tips for cleaning black taps

Tip 1 : Clean with a mild detergent and a soft cloth

When cleaning your bathroom weekly, we recommend using a mild cleaning product as soon as you reach the black faucets. Choose green soap, for example. Rinse your faucets thoroughly after cleaning to ensure no cleaning product residue remains. Besides the product, the right cloth is also important. A soft cloth, such as a microfiber cloth, is best. Avoid using a scouring pad, as this will scratch your faucet.

Tip 2 : Dry everything thoroughly

After daily use or cleaning, thoroughly dry the black shower set or shower head with a soft cloth. This will keep the products free of limescale for longer. When you get out of the shower, you can simply use the towel you used to dry yourself. This way, you don't have to dig out multiple towels. The same goes for the black shower faucet and sink faucet .

Tip 3 : Too late? Choose lemon as a base

If you do happen to experience limescale buildup on your black faucet, clean it with a mild, citric acid-based cleaner. Do not use cleaners containing hydrochloric acid, acetic acid, chlorine, or other harmful, aggressive acids. This also applies to (professional) cleaning agents containing phosphoric acid. We also advise against using scouring pads or abrasives when cleaning black faucets. These can scratch your products.

Tip 4 : Remove scratches on your black faucet

Did you notice any scratches while cleaning your black faucets? You probably have a black permanent marker at home! Use it to blend in the scratches and make them less visible.

Tip 5 : Sometimes tackle cleaning on a large scale

Are you diligent and busy every day? Do a thorough cleaning a few times a year. You might not always realize it, but dust can build up in your drawers or cupboards. That dust then settles around a bit, causing you to find dust again just after you've finished cleaning. That's why it's important to empty and clean everything in your bathroom or kitchen once a year, so you're ready to tackle it again.

Choose high-quality black taps

The advantage of our black faucets is that you're getting quality. Many black faucets are inexpensive but of poor quality. They're powder-coated, and every blemish is visible and scratches very easily. Our black faucets have a galvanized finish. Galvanization (electroplating) is a process that uses an electric current to dissolve and shape metal. It's more scratch-resistant, wear-resistant, and durable than traditional powder coating. This also saves you a lot of cleaning time for your black faucets.

Despite their high quality, we still recommend cleaning and maintaining your products properly with our tips. This not only looks fresh, but also creates a clean, minimalist look in your bathroom and kitchen. Are you going for a black pull-out kitchen faucet , a black wall-mounted shower, or a black rain shower ? Cleaning black faucets is a breeze with our tips!

If black faucets aren't your thing, we have a whole range of other faucets. Also check out our beautiful copper and rose gold faucets . Good luck cleaning your black faucet! You'll probably be dreading it, but when you're done, you'll feel so satisfied...
