Galvanizing, also known as electroplating, is a process that uses an electric current to dissolve and shape metal. The faucets are immersed in a dye bath under current, causing the color to adhere to the product. This gives the faucets a highly wear- and scratch-resistant finish. Galvanizing is much less susceptible to wear than powder coating, and small scratches are less visible. Galvanizing also creates a smooth, sleek finish, while powder coating often leaves small bumps visible on the faucets. Furthermore, products with a powder coating finish often come with a limited warranty of only one year. This contrasts with Meir, which offers a full 10-year warranty on the finish of its galvanized faucets.

No, this depends on how hard (calcium-rich) the water is that comes out of your tap. However, limescale is more noticeable on black taps than on stainless steel taps, for example. It's recommended to dry the taps with a soft cloth after showering and cleaning. Still experiencing limescale stains on your black tap? Then clean your tap with a citric acid-based cleaning agent. Don't use harsh cleaning agents containing chlorine, hydrochloric acid, acetic acid, or other strong acids. These can permanently damage your tap. Scourers, abrasives, or microfiber cloths can also scratch your tap. Cleaning black taps

Meir colored faucets come with a lifetime warranty on the finish. You also receive a 10-year warranty on the internals and a 10-year warranty on the parts. Our own-brand stainless steel faucets come with a 25-year warranty on the finish. You also receive a 5-year warranty on the internals and a 3-year warranty on the parts.

Meir has developed a way to reduce water and energy consumption in showers through smart engineering. The Meir rain showerhead combines air and water to create a pleasant pressure without using much water. For example, it uses significantly less water than a standard rain showerhead. This is not only good for the environment but also ensures lower running costs.

Both 304 and 316L stainless steels are rust-resistant and colorfast due to their composition. Stainless steel is a mixture of alloying elements, primarily iron, chromium, nickel, and carbon. 304 and 316L stainless steels are also wear-resistant because the taps and accessories are made entirely of stainless steel, not just the surface layer. The addition of molybdenum and the high nickel content makes 316L stainless steel more resistant to chlorides and corrosion than 304 stainless steel.

Meir's black faucets are durable. This is partly due to their galvanized finish. Galvanization gives the black faucets a hard metal layer. This layer is more durable, colorfast, and rust-resistant than traditional powder coating or spray painting. All of this ensures that the black faucets remain beautiful, even after prolonged use.

A thermostatic faucet is a faucet with a built-in thermostat. The thermostat regulates the water temperature. You can adjust this with a single knob: turn the knob warmer or colder, and the thermostat mixes the water to the desired temperature. With a mixer tap, you mix the cold and hot water yourself by turning the two knobs. The difference between a thermostatic faucet and a mixer tap is therefore primarily the way the temperature is regulated. A thermostatic faucet is more stable when it comes to temperature fluctuations, and many of these faucets now offer protection against excessive temperatures. It is also more sustainable because you waste less water to achieve the right temperature. On the other hand, a mixer tap, with its classic shape and often luxurious design, fits better in certain bathroom styles and/or can be concealed more attractively.

No, this isn't necessary. Almost all parts of our faucets can be replaced externally. That saves a lot of work!

Our Meir rain showers use approximately 7-10 liters of water per minute. On average, rain showers use around 15-20 liters per minute, so this is significantly less with Meir. In most cases, a CW4 boiler is therefore sufficient. If you want hot water in multiple places simultaneously, for example, in the shower and the kitchen, a CW5 boiler offers optimal comfort.

Below you'll find an installation drawing with standard recommended dimensions. This can help you determine the correct height for your faucet. Deviations from this are, of course, possible based on personal needs and/or height.

Meir's copper faucets don't discolor. Meir uses galvanization for their finishing. This process involves immersing the faucets in a dye bath under electric current, ensuring the paint adheres to the product. Galvanization makes the copper faucets more durable than any other faucet finished with a traditional powder coating. The copper color imparted to the faucet during this process remains! The faucets also feature an anti-fingerprint coating, preventing stains.

All built-in parts are included in the price unless otherwise stated. Meir faucets are available separately as built-in and finished parts. This makes it easy to change the color of your faucet!

Teak

Yes! Teak is a solid wood with a dense grain and a high oil content. This makes it perfectly resistant to moisture and temperature fluctuations. It can also withstand a few knocks. Perfect for intensive use in the bathroom. A teak bathroom vanity can last for years!

All the teak used to craft Mastello's Djati furniture comes from Indonesia and carries the V-legal certificate. This certificate guarantees that the teak comes from plantations overseen by the Indonesian government. The plantation researches, cultivates, and replants teak trees.

Yes, after a single application of 2-c oil, teak can get wet without any noticeable side effects.

Yes, after a single application of 2-component oil, it becomes dirt- and water-repellent. Toothpaste, for example, can simply be wiped off after a few days. Furthermore, teak is much stronger than materials typically used for bathroom furniture. This is also reflected in the various applications of teak, such as outdoor furniture, beams, and boats. So, teak is definitely vandal-proof!

All wood works! Teak has been dried to a Dutch climate, which minimizes shrinkage and cracking.

Without oil, teak can discolor. With oil, it doesn't.

The teak is untreated as standard. For a longer lifespan, we recommend treating the product once with a 2-component oil. Several shades are available, from natural to charcoal. This allows you to give the teak a different color.

At Mastello, we use top-quality drawer runners, specifically those from Blum. These drawer runners feature soft-close mechanisms for silent closing.

Solid surface

Solid surface is a durable material often used in bathrooms, kitchens, and toilets. It's a cast stone composed of natural minerals, acrylic, polyester, and various resins, offering a wide range of design possibilities. As the name suggests, the material is solid. It's strong, durable, and resilient. It's also resistant to heat, cold, and moisture. Solid surface products are long-lasting without compromising their quality.

No, our solid surface does not discolor. We're absolutely certain of this, which is why we offer a 10-year warranty. Many B-grade solid surface products use too much dye. This means the raw material ratio is incorrect, and there's a risk of discoloration. Fortunately, this isn't the case with Djati.

Spilled toothpaste? A damp cloth is an easy way to remove the residue. Try to do this immediately. Fluoride-containing substances can stain after a longer exposure time. Waited too long and a stain appears that you can't remove with water and all-purpose cleaner? Use a mild abrasive on a sponge and gently rub the stain away in circular motions. Want to know more about cleaning solid surfaces? Read our blog on cleaning solid surfaces.

Solid surface is a scratch-resistant material. If you do have minor dents and scratches in the surface, you can repair them yourself by sanding them with a mild scouring pad, an abrasive, or a fine steel pad. For deeper dents, scratches, or even a crack, it's recommended to have them repaired by a professional. Want to know more about solid surface maintenance? Then read our blog on cleaning solid surfaces.

Solid surface has a high degree of UV resistance. This means the material does not discolor.

Mastello washbasins are solid surface through and through. This is the most sustainable material choice: 100% solid, wear-resistant, repairable, and fully recyclable.

In the bathroom, it sometimes happens that a chemical, such as dichloromethane (a degreaser and paint stripper), drain cleaner, or acetone used to remove nail polish, gets onto a solid surface. Take immediate action: rinse it off, preferably with soapy water. If there's nail polish spilled, it can be removed with a non-acetone nail polish remover.

Wash basins

In our bathroom renovation blog, you'll find an installation drawing with standard recommended dimensions. This can help you determine the correct height for your sink. Deviations from this are, of course, possible based on personal needs and/or height.

Whether you need a click waste with or without an overflow depends on whether you have a sink with or without an overflow. So first check if your sink has an overflow. An overflow is a small hole in the back or side of the sink. The overflow ensures that excess water is drained away if the faucet is left on for too long. Do you have a sink without an overflow? Then you need a click waste without an overflow. Do you have a sink with an overflow? Then you need a click waste with an overflow.

The stainless steel basins in gun metal and brushed nickel, brass, and gold are PVD-coated, the ultimate in existing finishes. PVD stands for Physical Vapor Deposition and is the most resistant finish available. PVD coating protects the basin against stains and scratches and is also relatively environmentally friendly. To apply the coating, a liquid metal is vaporized in a vacuum environment. The vaporized metal is then applied to the basin in one or more layers. These applied layers are ultra-thin, ensuring that the basin's design remains unaffected by the top layer.

You don't have to worry about stains and scratches on your stainless steel sink. The sinks are PVD coated, the most durable finish available!

Avoid cleaning products containing hydrochloric acid, formic acid, acetic acid, or chlorine bleach; these can permanently damage your sink. After cleaning, remember to rinse the sink with water and dry it with a soft cloth. This will prevent limescale stains.

Toilets

The toilets offered by Mastello are rimless. This means the toilet bowl has no flushing rim, preventing the flushing water from splashing upward during dispensing. This is much more hygienic because dirt can't accumulate in hard-to-reach places. A rimless toilet also saves water and is easy to clean, preventing the flushing water from splashing upward during dispensing.

Yes, an Artceram toilet fits on every frame.

No, for example, it is not possible to combine a control panel and reservoir from different brands.

Mirrors

Yes, both applying makeup and shaving are easier if the mirror has lighting. Note, however: a mirror with indirect lighting primarily provides an atmospheric, grazing light across the wall. A mirror with direct lighting, on the other hand, primarily provides practical facial light. The latter allows you to see much more while applying makeup, shaving, or doing your hair. Another advantage: LED lighting has a long lifespan.

The best mirror size for you naturally depends on several factors. Consider the size of your vanity, the size of the wall and the bathroom as a whole, your posture, and personal preferences/needs. Our advice: if you have a rectangular vanity, choose a mirror with the same width. Want a round mirror? Then choose one that's 10 to 20 cm smaller than your vanity.

Radiators

If you have underfloor heating in your bathroom, a radiator isn't necessary. Combining them is an option, though. Unlike underfloor heating, (towel) radiators also offer the option of heating towels. Instamat's designer radiators also offer high aesthetic appeal. Underfloor heating, on the other hand, is not visible.

Shower drains

A shower drain, also known as a shower channel, ensures that water in the shower drains away properly and ends up in the drain. For a 90x90 cm shower area, an 80 cm drain is recommended.
